I am so Excited!! and worried.

I have been invited to attend Fash-con in Las Vegas! Actually my whole family can attend with me. They know my brother takes photos and helps me with tech stuff. Now I have to convince Mom to let us go. She is afraid the flight will be more than Andy can handle and the crowds. Andy really wants to go. He is thinking of how great it would be for him to take photo's. I hope Mom and Dad decide to let us take this trip. Dad has the vacation time and we never go anywhere. I know it is hard for Andy to go new places but I promise I will hold his hand if he needs it. Mom and Dad have to know I love him. He gets so anxious with anything new, food, places, routines. It is hard for him to not have a schedule. Schedules help him cope with the input to his nervous system since he isn't wired like the rest of us it is easier when things are the same. He knows what to expect. Travel as much as he enjoys new sights makes him super anxious so he can't just enjoy he gets sensory overload. He has heightened hearing and some other senses. It is sort of why his voice is never at the appropriate volume. He can't control how loud he talks. He doesn't hear himself the same as we do. Anxiety and his inability to focus through it are his two weakest points. I really do know all this. It is just such a great opportunity for me. He can take his noise cancelling head set it helps him when there is too much stimulation to his senses. That should help. Oh please Mom!!

Stores I Love-C&M Handcrafted Furniture

I have had the pleasure to talk to the Martha one of the owners of C&M Handcrafted Furniture and see their amazing products closer in photos and a dear friend of my Mom owns a custom piece and they donated a custom bed to one of the Dolls For A Cause auctions. I know I typically cover fashion but interior design is still a form of fashion.

If you are in the market for gorgeous heirloom quality pieces of furniture look no further. I want this bathroom. I need a tub like that to relax in and work on my beauty routine in. How awesome is this? (and it is blue I like blue after all it goes with my eyes.)

Some other great pieces that they sell include
A slide my brother would love this.
A complete kitchen, perfect if you are creating a doll house.
Desk and Chair set for studying and blogging from, hmm this looks like my wishlist lol.
Closet space what fashionista dosen't need more of that?
There is bedroom furniture to match. and also a kitchen with this butterfly design.

So please visit C&M Handcrafted treasures and support these talented hand crafter's work. Your dolls will love it all.

Blogs I Love- Karen Mom of Three

I can not begin to express how much I adore Karen of Karen Mom of Three Blog. She is a close friend of my mom.  Karen's blog covers crafts, handmade clothing, shoes, accessories, and major companies that make stuff to fit girls like me. She had contests, and events like sew along with me.

Karen is a mom to three boys and  like my mom she loves her boys and her dolls.

Karen has recently started a YouTube channel so check her out, subscribe, comment and hit that like button. She has great tips and reviews of products that are worth checking out.
I am in this video ;)

Fun Fact: Karen has a Maplelea Doll named Stacy. Candace and Stacy, bet those names together sound familiar to you, especially if you have watched Phinneas and Ferb on the Disney channel. Well, we are named after the cartoon characters and are of course best friends even if it is long distance as she lives in.. oh wait Internet Safety can't say where she lives either. Far Far Away is as close as I can say.
We are mail and pen pals.
This video stars my best pal.

so visit Karen Mom of Three on YouTube and her blog, and Facebook and tell her Candace sent you.

Boutiques I love-Kitt's Kloset

While I have yet to purchase anything from Kitt's Kloset I spend a ton of time searching through the website and planning where I would wear this outfit or where I would wear that outfit. Tari the owner includes shoes with many of the outfits or has them available to add on as an additional purchase. For those of us who are shoe lovers that is a big deal. I love love love shoes.
Tari has some other talented seamstresses who work along with her and help supply her shop with merchandise. She has created a great website and community boutique.
This is one of my favorite things she has in her store. I have a friend named Kanani who would love these as her dog is a dachshund
She would really rock this as well since she is a Hawaiian girl.

Sometimes I like to dress in period clothing although I need to wear a wig with longer hair to do so. This is my dream gown.

So pretty and I adore that shade of blue. It would match my eyes.

No, that isn't me it is Kit! People think we look similar but she has freckles and her hair is actually longer than mine, This dress is cute and while it is vintage looking I think it would be nice for church.

Go check out  Kitt's Kloset and tell them Candace sent you.

Spring Hair Trends

I love to be cutting edge. What I sometimes hate about being cutting edge is well, the cutting. Haircuts... they can be such a huge commitment. I am 11. I am not always ready to commit yet.

If you want to be in style and are commitment shy like me it is a good idea to check out some photos before you hit the chair.

If you have long hair, they are showing long loose waves, low ponytails that are secured at the nape of the neck, long and straight (yawn) with a center part (not for everyone's face though the majority of people look bad this way. Side parts are much more user friendly).

Shorter styles include the bob in all lengths, chin length, shoulder grazing, shoulder length,

...would you look at that I am cutting edge!  Short crops (ehhh layers =commitment so that isn't for me and also I don't want to be mistaken for a boy at my age it could happen) the shag (Mom side note: 1990 again) deep side parts on the copped styles, tons of hair gel are also popular (but not with me.)

Hair accessories that are trending include, floral garlands, headbands, scarves, braids, crowns of coins ala ancient Greece,  and a line of glitter at the scalp on the part (yuck.)

Updo styles are soft and feminine, curls and tendrils, or messy with texture.
Fringe or bangs still seems to be an anything goes area. I think you either love them or hate them. I am in the hate camp. I can't stand the feeling it seems like they are never the length I want. Too short then too long but someplace between should have been perfect but wait it is gone.
I don't understand why they had so many models with choppy bangs that look like Andy cut them, no offence brother dear, but you are 8. Mind Blown.
Mom has a point again and mental note next time I need to write these fashion trend blogs when she isn't sitting next to me. Here it is, Mom's point (The wet look was never a good look and in my opinion is a fashion don't. ) Ok mom, I have to agree so while they showed the wet look on the runway I advise to not hop on that one too quickly. To me it looked more frozen in goop than wet.

That is all for the Spring hairstyle report so if you want to be cutting edge or not because of a phobia of commitment, or you are 11 still here is a guide to what is happening.

Boutiques I love- 123 Mulberry Street

While I personally have only tried on one of their outfits that was later gifted to my cousin, I have to say 123 Mulberry Street shop on Etsy has some cute and on trend fashions for the fashion conscious. I had the pleasure of trying on this outfit back before my haircut.

This was a fun photo shoot. Skateboard riding (not) just posed.

123 Mulberry Street has donated to some of the Dolls For A Cause efforts as well so that is another great reason to love them.

Check them out and let them know Candace sent ya!

Spring 2014 Fashion Trends

I read fashion magazine websites and watch fashion vloggers on YouTube, I read fashion blogs. I love fashion. So here is a quick summary of what I have found on the web for Spring 2014 since it is finally looking a lot like spring. Thankfully because I was really getting tired of rocking boots and sweaters. Well weren't we all. ,

Courtesy of Elle Magazine I am reporting that you will be noticing floral patterns are back in a big way. Many designers are mixing in sheer panels of fabrics along with the floral. Crop tops are hot again, (Mom said this feels like the 1990's revisited to her. I wasn't born yet, lol)

Color trends for spring of 2014 include black and white together used in patterns and color blocking, icy pastels a shiny a shimmer, metallic or satiny pastels are cropping up in clothing and accessories, white by itself, a hint of pink on one piece of the ensemble or just a pop in a color block, and metallics. I love the black and white because a girl gets tired of pink and purple. Another great thing about black and white pieces I think that black and white pieces in the wardrobe are great for mixing and matching with other colors so it stretches your wardrobe.

Shapes we will be seeing include fit and flare dresses,

I saw this pink one in heather gray and I am in love. I really think this paired with some black and white accessories would be super cute.
You could add a pair of  black or white leggings underneath and switch to a Converse Chuck Taylor style sneaker for a cute casual look or make it really dressy.

Many of the dresses and skirts shown for spring had a fullness to the skirt. Very lady like.

Instyle reported iridescent fabrics, metallics, mesh, full skirts, white blouses, suits, luxe sweatshirts (I thought the ones featured were ugly. Big boxy and garish patterns) pastels, black and white,  geometric patterns, and  athletic aesthetic to pieces that look like a tennis dress, a letterman jacket, a ball cap

So look for these trends to crop up in all the places you love to shop.

You Tube Channel

I am so excited. Mom helped me set up my YouTube channel. I can't wait to attempt to make a video. Perhaps my first one will just be a slide show of photo's my brother helped me take.
Just to wet my feet.

I hope you Subscribe, comment and Like my videos. Check out my friends Video's as well.

Thanks I appreciate the support.

Close to my heart- Dolls For A Cause

I have had the luck and pleasure to have been a model for three collections that Dolls for A Cause has Auctioned. It started on Facebook and now has a google plus page as well. They donate clothing and accessories they have made and occasionally bought to go with a collection and then they donate what the collection makes in an Ebay auction to a cause. Past causes have included: Leukemia, Breast Cancer, Make A Wish and Autism Speaks. A future collection is slated to benefit Wounded Warrior Project.

A photo of their current auction collection available on Ebay ending on April 18, 2014 so go bid now. You know you love it.

Models are Candace (Me, lol) Saige, Andy (My brother) and Rose.
Andy is adorable in that hat and he even smiled. :)
That is hard for him. If you have not been reading from my first post, Andy is on the Autistic spectrum. He is my younger brother and best friend. He helps me with this blog and he will be taking photo's of me when I start my Outfit of the day blogs.
It is amazing how similar Andy and Rose look. Although, Rose does have more freckles.

Tell them Candace sent you. :)

Boutiques I Love- ABeeLine

I love the shoes from this cute shop called ABeeLine on Etsy.
I wore a pair like these in last years Dolls For A Cause Autism Collection and I have to say they were so comfortable and fun to wear. I got a pair for Christmas. Special Order. I wore them to the Autism Walk. My Dad  and I raised 170.00 for Autism... Um wait, can't say the state. Internet Safety and all.
Anyhow really proud of them. Andy can't handle walking with us yet. Perhaps he will next year. He gets a ton of anxiety around that many people. He tried to stay but it got to be too much and he ended up going for a ride with Mom.

ABeeLinee will be restocking ASAP but totally go heart them on Etsy. Share some love.

She made super cute shoes for this years Autism Collection  by Dolls For A Cause currently on Ebay. I wore them in one promo photo
They are so pretty, Butterfly wings!!
She also made the laptop bag I am holding.

Visit A BeeLine and tell Bee that Candace sent you.

Boutiques I Love- Mini Me Dolly Diva's

Have you heard of a cute online boutique called Mini Me Dolly Diva's? I have a few outfits and just tshirts from this shop. It is on Etsy. I love the funny saying and shirts that really help you convey your unique personality. I have an extra special shirt from there, it is my favorite.  I modeled one just like it last year for Dolls For A Cause and Dacia made me my very own just like it. Here I am modeling their collection from 2013.

I have my very own AUTISM shirt. Of course that is why it is so special to me.
They do different Ebay Collections to benefit different causes throughout the year.

Here is a link to the current collection. I am in this one as well although I am wearing clothing from another shop. My brother Andy actually modeled with me. He did great. He is the only boy so you know who he is.
He looks so much like my friend Rose, but she has more freckles.

Andy has a shirt from Mini Me Dolly DIva's too since she makes clothes for boys as well. His shirt is a quote from his favorite show, The Big Bang Theory. It says " I'm not crazy my mother had me tested!"
He wears it so much. I know mom ordered it special in his favorite color, Red.

I have a photo of my friend Beth wearing one of my Mini Me Dolly Diva's outfits. She borrowed it from me and I took her photo. We were goofing around and not being serious so it isn't the fanciest photo.
Beth suffers from Alopecia so she has a bunch of wigs and hair colors. She is ok with the problem because she said being able to choose your hair to go with your ourfit is fun.  Got to love her outlook. You'll see her on here with different hair as time goes on, lol.

You really should check out Mini Me Dolly Diva's
and Dolls For A Cause. Tell them Candace said "Hi"

Hi

Welcome to my new blog. I am a fashionista and I just happen to be 11. I live in... wait, you don't really think I am going to tell you where I live do you?  Internet safety people. I am much smarter than that.

I started blogging because I have had some Fashion related luck I had been working as a model for a struggling store that gave me clothing in return. It is Lemonhead103  A new store is opening up, Confetti Doll Designs and they have hired me to model their clothing. I get to keep what I wear in Fashion shoots on top of being paid. They asked me to blog and vlog about their clothing and what I am wearing.

More free clothing and accessories for a fashionista like me? Yes! Better yet, Mom said Yes to it.

So the title of my blog must be confusing you. Are you confused?

Well... why I Want Candy Too?

Hi, my name is Candace. ( I know, I know I just mentally heard you all say "Hi Candace")

Only one person calls me Candy though, my brother Andy. I named the blog as a little tribute to Andy. Andy is one of my best friends, not just my younger brother. He is almost 9 and a gifted artist and he is off the charts smart. He also has Autism. He loves me even if I am neurotypical, lol. That was a joke for anyone who loves someone with Autism. Andy is very high functioning and is referred to as having Aspergers Syndrome. It is still Autism. I know so much about it for my age because I spend a good part of my time explaining the world to Andy and likewise Andy to the world. I love him though and wouldn't have it any other way. He isn't great in social situations but he is great with a camera so he is going to be my personal cameraman.

I am very excited. I know this will bring us more opportunities.

Since I love clothing, I am going to tell you about my favorite boutiques in upcoming blog posts.

Oh if you are wondering why my mom is allowing me to work already it is because I am expensive to keep, lol.  She knows how much I enjoy putting outfits together and while I have been learning to sew I still need money to buy fabrics and I still love to shop. I had to find a way to earn money. I am using my love of fashion to feed my pass
