Vote for me

I am in a contest and I really need votes. All you have to do is follow the link to the contest and follow the directions at the bottom of the post. I am in the cool outfit I modeled for Confetti Doll Design. I hear they are donating a similar dress for a Dolls for A Cause auction that will be on Facebook in June to benefit Ahmie a sweet 13 year old girl with cancer. If you love the style of my dress... and you should, follow theDolls For A Cause Facebook page and you can bid on the first one that will be sold. After that they hope to have some dresses like that in the boutique. Please vote for me. I worked really hard on this, as did the shop, and my family especially Andy on the photographs.

Thank You

Confetti Doll Designs sent me copies of the photo's they are using in their ads. Some of them were taken by Andy my little brother. How cool is that?

Andy took some photo's

Just a quick post of two photo's Andy took as I was starting down the runway.

Andy at the Con day 2 recap

Andy has been doing so well. He did ask to go outside a few time and dad took him out, he did need his ear protection when it got loud since he has such hypersensitive hearing and he did carry his slightly raty cat around but all in all he hasn't had any melt downs. Hopefully this means our family will get to take vacations every now and then other than trips to see Grandma.
Mom and dad have been talking about getting him a treat for his excellent behavior. I hope they get him something good.

I gotta run my turn on the runway is soon.

Plane trip and convention

Well we got on the plane with no issues. Andy did great although I know going through security was scary for him. Mom had to snap at the one agent because Andy wouldn't answer the lady when she asked him his name and age. Mom would repeat the question and then he would answer but he wouldn't look at the agent he would look at mom. She said in a rude way to my mom something about why are you repeating the questions to get him to answer. Mom said well, he is autistic so he isn't going to talk to a stranger. So then the agent looked down mumbled an apology and then let us go. We got little pins with the airline's name and logo from the stewards on the plane. That was pretty cool. My ears were hurting so much. I was not dealing with the pressure changes. Chewing gum didn't help either. Andy got a nose bleed on the way down but he didn't even panic. Mom was very impressed with how well he did. He really did want to go on this trip.
Keep hoping it all goes well.

I packed my outfit so I can wear it on the runway for Confetti Doll Designs. I had to leave Felicity home though. I heard they are going to bring the confetti photo backdrop for the runway so I think that is cool.

This place is huge. I have never seen this large a space. I have one panel to do and the runway show. Otherwise we get to walk around get free stuff...  promote my blog and my youtube, this is awesome.

Trip to Fash-Con and love for my brother...

Andy is amazing. I love my brother. He wrote out all the pro's and cons of going to the convention and then did a presentation for my parents and convinced them we should go. I did mention he is very smart right? He is much smarter than a normal 8 yr old third grader. He pointed out that forcing him out of his comfort zone once in a while will lead to hid growth potential and he told them that while he is nervous and afraid he really did want to see something new at the same time even if it scared him. He said that if I am by his side he can get through anything. I started to cry when he said that about me. I mean I know he loves me and I love him but I never knew how much he loves me. I do from time to time get annoyed with him. He is so literal all the time. We have our jokes but his sense of humor is much different than mine so sometimes I accidentally make him made because he doesn't grasp my meaning. He is the last person I ever want to hurt. He is a really good guy. I wish more people would give him a chance. People see he is different and they don't bother to get to know him.
The thing is people with Autism need acceptance more than awareness. It isn't enough to just know he is autistic you need to accept it and embrace his uniqueness. Kindness would go a long way too and it would help so much. I get mad when people say he is a freak or point and laugh at him. Once he was in a chorus concert and he has a good voice. If no one is watching him he sings amazing but if he realizes there is any kind of audience... oh boy. He was standing all weird with his foot on one of the risers leaning on that leg and not singing and people sitting in front of us were pointing at him and laughing. I just sat there crying. How can adults be so cruel.  He froze under the lights and the eyes on him. He hasn't done Chorus since. It is a shame.  He loved practices just not performing. I really wish he can get over things like this and I wish people wouldn't act like that.
I wish I had the guts to yell at those people... or my mom had. She gets a little weird when people do that about him she rushes him out of the situation before he realizes what people are doing or saying and then cries a ton afterward when he won't know why she is upset. I think it is her weird way of trying to protect him but eventually he will know. He doesn't deserve it but you can't control a crowd like that.

Anyhow I hope and pray this trip goes well for him. Sensory gear is going along for sure... his ear protection and his stuffed cat. He has this stuffed cat that calms him down. It isn't heavy or extra soft or anything but he really likes it.
He is actually excited about it. He is talking a mile a minute like he does when he is obsessing or excited.

Photo Shoot fun

I can not tell you how much fun the photo shoot was. It was the best. Mom mentioned to the owner of Confetti Doll Designs that I have an American Girl doll and there was a coordinating outfit fofor my doll Felicity. Felicity had belonged to my mom and she gave her to me. I love to collect clothing for her. Mom helped me modernize Felicity so she now is free of pin curls and has had a haircut. She wears all modern clothing. I think her historic stuff is cool but I wanted to make her dress more like me.

Felicity's outfit was all white with some black trim. Since I was wearing grey black and white in the photo shoot we coordinated so cute.

They let me keep all the clothing I am wearing, and the doll outfit on top of getting paid as a model.
Andy took these photo's. I told you he was a good photographer.
The one I was on break.
How neat is the confetti wall? So pretty and it is shiny too.

I can't believe how lucky I am.
